These online sessions were conducted on November 28, 2020 by members of the ATA’s Professional Development Program Area (pd@ata.ab.ca). Many of these sessions will be recorded by the ATA Professional Development staff for posting to various online collaboration, social media services, and platforms for use by ATA members and the general public. A new resource series, Common Threads for Inclusive Education, has been developed to support implementation of the Teaching Quality Standard and Leadership Quality Standard specific to inclusive education. These resources contain background information, teaching strategies and further resources specific to the topics and are designed to be entry points to further learning.
A guide to professional learning activities has been developed. This guide is intended to support school principals and professional development leaders to work collaboratively with school staff to develop professional competency for inclusive education as outlined in the Teaching Quality Standard and Leadership Quality Standard. The Facilitator Guide and accompanying PowerPoint presentation outline professional learning activities that support the Common Threads for Inclusive Education resources series.
